New Delhi - Pakistan off spinner Saeed Ajmal has been fined 15 percent of his match fee for a breach of the International Cricket Council (ICC) code of conduct rules in Wednesday's Twenty20 international win over hosts Sri Lanka.

The player was summoned for a hearing by match referee Alan Hurst after the Twenty20 world champions had won in Colombo by 52 runs, the ICC said in a statement on Thursday.

Ajmal was charged under section 1.6, for pointing to the pavilion after dismissing home skipper Kumar Sangakkara and for speaking aggressively as the batsman left the crease.

For level one offences, penalties range from a reprimand to a fine of up to 50 percent of the match fee with the referee's decision final and binding.
