I am back in windy Cape Town. When I'm home, which is not often, many people come up to me inside supermarkets, malls, etc. It's usually good-natured, mainly fans, who want an autograph or a picture.
I by and large comply without much fuss. Yesterday was different though. I never received any abuse, but I could see it in people's eyes that they were utterly disappointed by our exit. Although I did not need a reminder, it confirmed my feelings that we let a lot of people down.
My blog will, however, not be a sorry tale for the remainder of the tournament. There are still some hugely exciting teams battling it out and I'm sure the quality of cricket will be of a high standard.

I caught the end of the India v Australia match at Centurion on telly, and it really was bucketing down. To think when I left OR Tambo in the morning, there was hardly a cloud in the sky. Give me the South Easter any day, compared to lightning and thunderstorms.
I think it's going to the difficult for India to qualify now. Australia will be desperate to beat Pakistan in the group decider on Wednesday.
Pakistan have already qualified for the semi-finals, and I think they will struggle to motivate themselves. An Australian victory is also consistent with my tournament final prediction.
Today's game between England and New Zealand at the Wanderers is a tricky one. England have been one of the form sides of the tournament, but I still think the Kiwis could upset the apple cart.
They are an under-rated team and have dangerous players like Ross Taylor and Brendon McCullum. Brendon's a lot like Herschelle Gibbs. They both have the potential to play that one in a million innings on any given day.
Sri Lanka better be aware, as a Kiwi win will send them home.
Cheers,
JP
