More play in Durban, but not enough

The Dolphins and the Titans managed to get something approaching a full day's play on day three their SuperSport Series match in Durban on Saturday.

The two teams did manage 66 overs, which was a big improvement on the 51 overs bowled over the first two days due to the weather, and it provided enough time for the Titans to dismiss the Dolphins for 233 and then reach 100/2 in reply.

It is, nevertheless, extremely doubtful that the game will get much beyond a contest for the first innings bonus points.

Albie Morkel took the bowling honours for the defending champions with figures of 4/70 and the Dolphins must have been disappointed that virtually all their batsmen got starts but nobody went on to reach even 50. No doubt the disrupted nature of the match did not help.
