Dolphins seamer Yusuf Abdulla returned the best bowling performance of his first-class career to prevent the Titans going top of the log on the fourth and final day of the SuperSport Series match at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead on Sunday.

Gaining movement both through the air and off the pitch the stocky left-hander sparked a collapse that saw the defending champions lose their last eight wickets in the first innings for just 48 runs. Abdulla finished with 5/62 - marginally better than his previous best of 5/63.

The result was that the Titans collapsed from their overnight 100/2 to 164 all out in less than 59 overs.

Abdulla's performance enabled the Dolphins to shade the Titans in bonus points - 6.6 to 5.8 - in the weather ruined match and left the defending champions a fraction behind the Diamond Eagles at the top of the log.

With four of the sides having completed two rounds the Eagles are top on 22.48 followed by the Titans (21.72), the Highveld Lions (16.1) and the Cape Cobras (11.14).

The Warriors and the Dolphins have played one match each and have 7.55 and 6.6 points respectively.

The Dolphins reached 128/3 in their second innings before play was called off for an overall lead of 197 runs. Ahmed Amla put in some useful batting practice to finish on 53 not out (81 balls with eight fours and a six).
