JP Duminy stroked an unbeaten 36 as the Cape Cobras beat a Karnataka XI by five wickets yesterday in their final warm-up game ahead of their Champions League T20 clash against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Bangalore on Thursday.

Team manager Peter Sandell said the Karnataka XI were bowled out for 107 in the final over of their innings, with Rory Kleinveldt and Claude Henderson taking two wickets each.

He said the team they played against, at a ground an hour and 40 minutes outside of Bangalore, was virtually the same as the side they tied against in their first warm-up match on Monday.

"It was a much-improved performance on the first game. It has been good preparation and I think they can look forward to the tournament with confidence."

Wednesday will be devoted to a net practice and a strategy session before they take on the Royal Challengers, who have four South Africans in their squad - Jacques Kallis, Mark Boucher, Roelof van der Merwe and Dale Steyn - and a South African coach in Ray Jennings. - Sapa
