The Capricorn District Municipality (CDM), in Polokwane, Limpopo, will take delivery of fire emergency vehicles worth R9,3-million on Monday.
"The purchase of these vehicles is part of CDM's significant advances for the 2010 Fifa Soccer World Cup to efficiently handle any disaster or emergency that may occur during the tournament and even beyond," said executive mayor Motalane Monakedi.
He said the municipality had purchased the vehicles to augment the municipality's disaster management capacity.
They could handle any kind of disaster, including fires and road accidents. - Sapa
