The Congress of SA Trade Unions has threatened a work stoppage and road block at Sun City in December over unaddressed work grievances, it said on Tuesday.

"This is wholly prompted by the stubbornness of both Sun City Resorts and Sun International South Africa's management in responding to issues raised by Cosatu on the 30th of October's march," it said.

The union federation has already marched to express its anger at the playing of an adaptation of the national anthem racially insulting to former president Nelson Mandela.

A number of officials from the security provider Falcon Security had to leave over the controversy.

However, Cosatu still wants the company's contract terminated and a number of named people dismissed after a number of female workers were strip searched over R40 that was stolen.

The money was not found on the women, who were are angered by the alleged "humiliating" conduct.

If its demands are not met, Cosatu has threatened to "again bring Sun City to its knees" with no traffic will be able to enter the resort for the Nedbank Million Dollar golf challenge.

Cosatu wants Sun International chief executive officer DC Coutts-Trotter to address the issues.

"Cosatu calls on all workers at Sun City to down tools on the day in question and it openly warns all who are being prepared to work as casuals on that day not try [the] working force's patience as they will be endangering their own lives."

Comment was not immediately available from media facilitators for both Sun City and Falcon. - Sapa
