5.15pm: Good Afternoon and welcome to Loftus Versfeld. The Blue Bulls have just run out onto the field to warm up and the west stand has metaphorically wet themselves in pleasure. Bad news for them is that Morne Steyn is limping heavily... okay, so I'm kidding, he's just fine. He's already practising his place kicking, which is hardly a surprise. I have just spent an enjoyable hour in the Absa VIP tent with Oz Pistorius, Jenna Clifford model Ryk Neethling, Gary Gold, Lions coach elect Dick Muir and Province player elect Jaque Fourie. The big money is favouring the Bulls to win, which is sensible: this is Loftus, they do have 11 Boks in their starting XV and the Cheetahs have two. Plus the place is packed, the fans are, well, wetting themselves at the prospect and Vic Matfield ate a lot of Chinese food last night. He always eats Chinese before a big game. "Waiting for my sweet and sour chicken and beef chow mein. I love chinese food before a big game," wrote Vic on Twitter last night. Sounds like a winning combination to me. I'll be back in a few minutes for the start. Hold on tightly, it will be a big one.

5.30pm: Kick-off! WP Nel, the Cheetahs tighthead, has sprinted on to the field and looks tired already.

Try! 7-0. 4th minute: Fourie du Preez chips to the right wing from a tap-and-go penalty and Francois Hougaard scores the first try. Morne Steyn kicks the points. This could get nasty.

8th minute: Jacques-Louis Potgieter misses a penalty right out in front of the posts. He's heading for Loftus next season. Just putting that out there.

Try! 14-0. 15th minute: Bryan Habana scores on his last game for the Bulls. The Bulls turn over the ball in the middle of the park after a Cheetahs knock-on. Vic Matfield gets it wide quickly and apart from what looked to be a forward pass by Kirchner to Du Preez and then by Du Preez to Habana, the try looked good.

Once again the freaking ref played a big part in this game, I think that Kaplan was to over whelmed and just to scared to make a mistake and he did in the first 5 minutes of the game. 90% of all the reporters were bulls sirporters. I think that future finals should be played at nuteral grounds like soccer cup finals. Kaplan should go back to refree school..

Hi Kevin

Still at the office. Thanx, leaving for Bloem at 04am. Need to know if I have to pack bubbly or hankeys. It looks like a cheap round at this stage.
