Luanda, Angola - Angolan minister for American Affairs Balbina Silva confirmed that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez would visit Angola on Thursday.
In an interview on Wednesday with local Radio Ecclesia, Silva said the visit would strengthen the bonds between the countries in the area of oil production. She also denied that the visit by the outspoken critic of the United States would have a negative impact on Angola's relations with the United States.
"I can't see how the visit could, in any way, affect our relations with the United States," Silva was said. "One thing is the relations we maintain with the US and another the ones we have with Venezuela."
