Only a point separates Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs, who are primed for an explosive Premiership encounter at the Super Stadium in Atteridgeville on Saturday night.

Chiefs are seventh in the 16-team league with 13 points while Downs are ninth with 12 points.

Each had a convincing triumph in their most recent league game with Sundowns registering a resounding 5-1 victory over Maritzburg United while Chiefs hammered Ajax Cape Town 3-0.
Both will be hoping to continue from where they left off as they lock horns in what is expected to be a highly charged affair.
While the men from Chloorkop were resting, Amakhosi were in action against Bloemfontein Celtic in the Macufe Cup in Bloemfontein on Sunday.
Chiefs assistant coach Donald "Ace" Khuse was in charge as Chiefs won the one-day tournament courtesy of a hat-trick from Zimbabwean striker Knowledge Musona.
'Amakhosi are taking it one match at a time' Chiefs won the game 3-1.
Khuse said the players were gearing up for what they anticipate will be a tough clash on Saturday night. With two consecutive victories, Chiefs players are motivated ahead of the Downs clash.
"The team did very well. They're coming together well and they showed that they can play better," said Khuse.
"I hope they will continue to win games. It's going to be tough against Sundowns. Their pride is at stake and they will try by all means to win on Saturday," said Khuse.
The former midfield genius, who played for both Sundowns and Chiefs in his day, said Amakhosi were taking it one match at a time as they looked to improve their performances which had let the team down early in the season.
Khuse rejected talk of already contending for the title saying: "We are not looking at the bigger picture but just at one game at a time".
With Sundowns players' spirits high following their recent win, Chiefs should expect a torrid time as they wrestle for three points that could make a huge difference in their respective campaigns.
