 Man caught driving at 221km/h in Merc

Twelve men were arrested for speeding on the N1 north of Johannesburg at the weekend, the city's metro police said on Monday.

"The highest was a man driving a 221km/h in a Mercedes Benz," spokeswoman Phindhani Tebeila said.

The others were all caught driving mostly BMWs and VW Golfs.

They were trapped near the Olifantsfontein offramp, were granted bail and would appear in court on Monday. - Sapa
