An unknown man was stabbed to death in Soshanguve, Pretoria, on Monday afternoon, police said.

Captain Solly Marindi said Block 8 residents saw the man run down a street and fall at 4pm. He was believed to be in his early 20s.

"They went to investigate and found that he had been stabbed in the chest with a knife. He died on scene," said Marindi.

He said police were tying to link the incident to an armed robbery reported by a schoolboy at around the same time. - Sapa
