 Man drowns in KZN

A man drowned at a Pennington Beach on the KwaZulu-Natal South coast this afternoon.

The unknown man was swimming at an unmanned beach and it is thought that he got pulled to the backline by a strong rip current.

Other bathers managed to swim to his aid and pull him to the shore, starting CPR when they noticed the man was not breathing and had no pulse.

Netcare911 Paramedics arrived and declared the man dead. - Netcare911
