Scores of passengers were injured when a bus careened down an embankment near Durban's Sibaya Casino on Monday, paramedics said.
Both Netcare 911 and ER24 said they had ambulances on scene and initial reports were that there could be as many as 70 patients.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said the accident happened on the M4 near Durban's Sibaya Casino, about 25 kilometres north of the city near the resort of Umdloti.
He had been informed that one person was in a critical condition.
ER24's Durban branch manager Craig Wylie said paramedics on scene had told him it appeared the bus had a tyre blow out and careened 20 metres down an embankment.
