Police have arrested six people believed to be part of a syndicate which sold fake learner and driver licences in and around Bloemfontein.
Inspector Thandi Mbambo said the group was arrested during raids that started on Tuesday and lasted until Wednesday afternoon.
"The operation was started three weeks ago after information was received about people developing and selling learners' licences and drivers' licences."
Mbambo said various houses in Mangaung were visited by members of the provincial organised crime unit during the two-day raids.
Police seized a computer and a colour printer believed to have been used to develop the fake documents.
Documents belonging to the Department of Transport were also found in various houses.

Other items found were a date stamp from one of the police stations in Mangaung, a date stamp from the Department of Transport, blue lights used during operations or roadblocks, police reflector jackets, motor vehicle clearance forms, vehicle re-registration forms and copies of vehicle clearance certificates.
Four people were arrested in their homes while a clerk at the Lengau Testing Station in Bloemfontein was arrested at work.
"Another suspect was arrested and a firearm with its serial number scrapped was found," Mbambo said.
The three men and two women were expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court on charges of fraud and corruption. - Sapa
