The court case of an Umlazi high school teacher who stands accused of raping a 19-year-old pupil has now been adjourned to next month because the teacher is apparently sick.
The teacher, whose hearing was first postponed in mid-September at the request of the prosecutor, Dumisani Nxumalo, was supposed to have made his court appearance on Monday.
The 45-year-old man allegedly raped his pupil in an office at the school after he had asked her to help him carry some files to the office.
He is one of five teachers from Makhumbuza High School, Umlazi, who are suspended on full pay after being charged with misconduct.
