 Pub shooting trial postponed

A murder trial against two former policemen will resume in the Durban High Court next year.

Brothers Samuel and Leon Steven - who were both police inspectors at the time of their alleged crimes - are charged with the murders of Shawn Stydrom, Rory Menzies, Nick Jansen van Rensburg and Bruce Edwards at the Merseyside Pub and Tavern, in Umbilo, Durban, in September last year.

They are facing a further charge of attempted murder in connection with the shooting of Edwards's son, Shaun, who still has a bullet from the shooting in his thigh. They have pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
