Embattled one-time kwaito star Mandoza says he is determined to change. Three days after escaping a possible jail term for culpable homicide, Mandoza was in Durban to promote his latest album.
Apologising for his role in the accident, he said he was ready to turn over a new leaf.
Earlier this week, Magistrate D Smith found Mandoza guilty of two counts of culpable homicide and handed him a suspended four-year jail sentence. The ruling sparked an outcry, with complaints aired on a local blog accusing the magistrate of preferential treatment and claiming that Mandoza got off too lightly.

'I used to have friends, go out and have fun' The sentence was for an accident in January on the Johannesburg N1 highway in which Mandoza's Chrysler sedan collided with a VW Jetta, killing two men.
In handing down sentence in the Roodepoort magistrate's court on Monday, Smith ordered Mandoza to support the families of the deceased financially for two years. Smith said that, rather than a fine, the money would help the families.
Speaking in Durban on Thursday, Mandoza apologised to the families. "I've changed," he said. "I don't do things like I used to. I used to have friends, go out and have fun. I don't do that any more."
