Premier Soccer League general manager Ace Ncobo has just resigned from the PSL after failing a polygraph test conducted at the Independent Newspapers on Thursday.

Ncobo had hoped to clear his name after allegations of bribery were levelled against him by suspended referee Jonas Nhlapo.

"I hold no grudges against the PSL or even Nhlapo," said Ncobo.

"My conscience is clear and today I am proud to say I leave the PSL a stronger brand."

The PSL's Chief executive Kjetil Siem could not hold back his emotions and said he wished Ncobo could have abstained from taking the lie detector test.

"I told him not to do it because we had our own investigation going on. But he did not listen.

"This is the saddest thing I have ever had to do in my life as I believe Ace is innocent," said Siem.

He could not divulge whether Ncobo would be given a golden handshake.

no wonder Pirates form has tumbled to such low levels. They were benefiting from under hand tactics. Can all PSL administrators also take the test.I suspect they are pushing fourth their own intersts,in particular the administrator with or without a missing tooth.

Its a pity that a people will believe that passing or failing a polygraph test proves you are telling the truth. the polygraph tests have no real scientific basis or grounding that proves they are work as lie detectors or that they can differentiate between a person telling the truth and a person telling a lie. its a pity that people believe that they work that fact of the matter is that ruin many peoples lives every year due to this false belief. and it a pitty that it has ruined Ncobo career due to the belief that it would prove he was telling the truth. so ask your self this question before you judge the man if he beveled the machine works as a lie detector why would he voluntarily take the test. He took it because he has nothing to hide. unfortunately for him polygraph tests are total BS you can read more about what a hoax polygraph tests are on http://antipolygraph.org/

Ace didn't do anything wrong. That thing, lie detector machine is not 100% accurate, in fact it's just 60%. Its scientific results are very questionable. Ncobe has always been rulling against Pirates and I guess he did that because he was Khoza's friend and feared that if he becomes somehow newtral, he will be viewed as biased towards Pirates. All clever people who follow soccer know very well that Ncobo is innocent. Why couldn't Jonas Nhlapo resign as well?

Good one. This guy was always biased against Pirates.Look at previous Pirates games were he was officiating. He could not leave Pirates alone even when he was no longer a referee. I wish politicians can also take this lie detector tests.
