The new R1,8-billion Fairmont Zimbali, which is the Canadian operator's first development in the country, will be launching its prestigious residential portfolio in the local and international market on December 15.
All the sites are on the beach and are due to open in the first quarter of 2009.

IFA vice-president (operations) Phil de Sylva said that Zimbali was the premium resort in South Africa, having just scooped three prestigious awards at the 2006 International Property Awards. The launch phase was critical as it delivered on the commitment to Zimbali's development partners and investors to further enhance the stature of the resort.
Fairmont Zimbali will consist of an ultra-luxurious, international five-star hotel, a Gary Player signature golf course and a country club, an international Willow Stream spa and a bouquet of residential and investment real estate ownership opportunities.
It includes an exclusive Fairmont Heritage Place private residence club, offering all the benefits of owning a vacation home as well as access to premium residences around the world.
Investors will be able to select from a variety of ownership opportunities ranging from direct investment in a typical hotel condominium suite to buying an apartment or free-standing villa, with the comfort of knowing that the property will be maintained at the highest standard when the owner is not in residence.
The development will be released in phases with prices ranging from R750 000 for a share in a "Zimbali Residence" to between R5-million and R15-million for a high-end luxurious villa or apartment with endless sea views, while the ultimate opportunities will be the six signature beachfront villas which will be priced from R34 million each.
Suites will be rented out by the hotel, providing the owner with a return on investment as well as usage of the property for a specified time each year. Apartments and villas can also be included in the hotel rental scheme.
The Fairmont Zimbali Residences will include 56 designer apartments on elevated sites, adjacent to the main hotel. The Zimbali Residences will have views over the fifth green of the existing Tom Weiskopf signature Zimbali golf course.
