Bernie. I think that the SA gov should start to do away with affirmative action and start to appoint people on their capabilities and experience. I dont care if a person is black, white pink or any other colour, if they can do the job well then they should get the money for their efforts but it is very sad when one sees how many people get in to positions simply because of their colour. We in SA have a problem with reverse apartheid and the present gov always trying to blame the previous gov for all and sundry. Well this is the first public acknowledgement of the issues that have started to raise their head in the New South Africa. This place is awsome to live and I have made it my home for the last 13 years but it has serious race issues against whites which need to be addressed as I have seen a growning reverse racism since coming here. What this man has done is proved his case on an individual basis and the reason for the Canadian Government reacting is that our goverment tried to wipe teh egg of its face and rather than admit there is a problem they stick their heads up their @@ and deny it. The only way to fix any problem is to acknowledge there is one and then fix it.

Anyone who thinks that SA is not in dire need of an overhaul is living in a cave. Try popping your head up and seeing what is actually going on. YOU encourage those who are demoralised and have other options to leave the country however I encourage you to stop being ignorant as these people are the ones that are paying the taxes that cover the cost of your CEO & politicians screw ups and who are footing the bill so that your brother can have full time security to protect him where he himself has dug his own grave. It is the old folk who experienced the true impact of Apartheid and yet it is them who continue to suffer the most now while the young "entitled" reap the rewards of the current racist structures. I too will leave one day and spread the word of how once I had a "home" in Africa, which under the new dispensation, "was stolen from me"

I am a white male and are staying, mainly because of my age, but mostly because I want to see this disfacolud (disaster+farce+comedy+ludicracy combined) is going to pan out. For sure I know that the ANC's number is going to come up very, very soon. Much sooner than they think. Let's then see what all the violence and racist spewing Malema's are going to say and do then. I only hope that during the next round of "truth & reconcilliation" these guys are all going to be around to face the music. But somehow I think that will all run away like the cowards they are.

Guess what - there were many, many people who fought against the apartheid regime and what is stood for. Some fought actively and some only in their thoughts. Yes, apartheid was wrong but who are you to sterotype all 'pink people' who have always believed in freedom for all? Yes, including our forefathers. What worries me is your statement that the 'pink people' should be fighting for our freedom - did not the ANC say that we are all united under the flag - every South African is entitled to freedom? Yes, we feel that our freedom is being taken away from us and from the looks of things our brothers are of the same sentiment. God is a very embarrased god at this point in time - he created us equal yet we feel we have a right to say who gets what and why based on what colour God made us... To Morgan. Don't leave, Sout Africa is the most beautiful country in the world. We going to work togerther here and we not going to be like Huntley. Most of all, we not going to leave SA and tell lias about SA in a foreign country. I agree and we all agree black and white that CRIME in SA is violant and is out of hand but we are not going to tell the world that is only affecting whites and when they are mugged they are told because they are white and that's not true.
