Berlin - One of four suspected thieves in a spectacular heist at a poker tournament in Berlin has revealed the names of his three accomplices after turning himself in.
Four armed raiders made off with around €242 000 (R2.4m) from a luxury Berlin hotel where one of Europe's biggest poker tournaments was taking place on March 6.
State prosecutors said the 21-year-old suspect had presented himself to the police on Monday, accompanied by his lawyer. He admitted his role in the robbery and named his accomplices after intensive interrogation.
During the raid, a security guard held the arrested man in a headlock long enough for a security camera to capture his masked face with clearly visible eyes - an image that appeared all over the press.

Berlin police had been confident of rapidly tracking down the perpetrators, who were all caught on camera and left several traces in the Grand Hyatt hotel, where the tournament took place.
One other man was arrested at the weekend, but was released again as the evidence against him was not substantiated.
More than 1 000 poker players had registered for the six-day tournament, which offered $1m (R7.3m) in prize money. - Sapa-DPA
