Three men claiming to be policemen tried to take delivery of drugs at OR Tambo International Airport, a narcotics detection expert told the High Court in Johannesburg on Wednesday.
Wonder Capp was testifying in the trial of three senior West Rand policemen who are facing 13 charges that include drug dealing, fraud, racketeering and defeating the ends of justice.
Senior Superintendent Dumisani Jwara, Captain Victor Jwili and Captain Landro Mokgosani have pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Capp told the court that on October 7, 2007, she and her narcotics detector dog had discovered cocaine hidden in sewing tables that had arrived on a flight from Sao Paulo in Brazil.

She said that shortly after having fetched the sewing tables she had been approached by three men, one of whom had introduced himself as "London". He had said they were from the West Rand Organised Crime Unit.
London had claimed that the unit had been waiting for the drugs.
The three men, who had been in civilian clothes and wearing police cards on their chests and around their necks, had not produced any documentation to support their alleged claim to the drugs.
They had left the scene immediately after other officers had confirmed that the OR Tambo Organised Crime Unit was on its way to collect the drugs.
Asked by the State prosecutor if she could identify the three men if she saw them again, Capp responded that she would not be able to do so.
The case continues. - Sapa
