London - Striker Michael Owen may miss England's friendly international against Sweden next week after picking up a hamstring injury in Liverpool's Uefa Cup tie at Olympique Marseille on Thursday.
The 24-year-old was substituted in the second half of the 2-1 defeat at the Stade Velodrome, which resulted in Liverpool being knocked out of the competition 3-2 on aggregate.
Owen, who has struggled with injury problems throughout this season and returned from a six-week lay-off caused by a thigh muscle injury in January, is also a doubt for his club's premier league match at Leicester City on Sunday.
"Michael has a hamstring problem. He just felt it and so we took him off. We don't know yet how bad it is," Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier told the club's website.
