Yaounde, Cameroon - An overloaded commuter bus smashed into a timber truck in northern Cameroon Friday, killing 11 people and seriously injuring eight more, state radio said.

The accident occurred in Belalo, a small town about 550km north-east of Yaounde, state radio said. A speeding, overloaded minibus with a capacity of 13 hit a timber truck parked on the roadside.

"Victims were squashed in the wreck and several of them had their bodies split," state radio said.
