A two-year-old boy who was brutally murdered, allegedly by his actress mother, was buried on Thursday.
Relatives, neighbours and friends attended the Johannesburg funeral but the boy's mother was not present. She is being held at Sterkfontein Hospital for observation.
The actress, who appeared in popular soap opera Generations, the sitcom Emzini Wezinsizwa and the local drama Justice For All, is expected to be at the hospital for 30 days. She will stand trial if found to be mentally fit, said Soweto police's Captain Mbazima Shiburi.
The dead boy was discovered on Sunday by a friend who lives in the actress's house.

The child was found lying in a pool of blood with a bible placed on his head. He had been hacked with an axe and his eyes gouged out with a screwdriver, apparently because his mother believed him to be possessed.
