A family killing has left a grandmother and her daughter shot dead and her granddaughter seriously injured in Milnerton, Cape Town police said on Monday.
Captain Randall Stoffels said the shooting happened in Oxalis Street at 10.10am on Monday.
The husband of one of the women discovered the bodies and called the police.
Police found the body of an 82-year-old woman on the steps near the entrance to the house. She had been shot in the head and a gun was found next to her body.
The body of her 55-year-old daughter, who also lived in the house, was found in one of the bedrooms with a gunshot wound to the head.

In another bedroom the 26-year-old granddaughter was found alive, but critically injured. She had also been shot in the head and was taken to a nearby hospital.
It was still too early to say what the motive for the killing was. Police were investigating, Stoffels said. - Sapa
