Tips to help protect your child from snooping out pornographic websites:
Make it a rule to never give out any identifying information like your address, telephone number or school name in chat rooms, forums, forms or questionnaires.
Never allow your kids to arrange face-to-face meetings with anyone they meet online.
Instruct your kids to never reply to emails, chat messages or forum items that make them feel uncomfortable.
Inform your kids not to click on any links that are contained in emails from people they don't know.
Set strict rules and guidelines for computer use by your children, limiting what they can access and setting appropriate times, duration and areas that can be accessed.

Post the rules near the computer as a reminder.
Monitor your child's Web use.
Get to know the Internet and any services your child uses and know your child's online identity (parents should know children's user IDs, screen names and passwords).
Remember that people using computers online may not be who they seem. Someone indicating that "she" is a "12-year-old girl" could in reality be a 40-year-old man.
Remember that everything you read online may not be true. Any offer that seems too good to be true probably is.
Make surfing a family affair. Consider keeping the computer in a family room, rather than the child's bedroom. Internet access can be a valuable educational tool.
Spend time with your family learning what it has to offer and enjoy responsibly.
