Its tragic what has happened to the raped 9 year old girl and the murdered (aborted) twins. Its good to know the man was arrested and i believe justice shall happen. It's not fair/right/good to have killed the twins for the crime of the father. The Church has a role to preserve life not kill. So shame on those who can't respect life in any form.

This is such a sad story. If it was my daughter i would kill the animal who did it to her first and then deal with the pregnancy or the abortion

So much had been said so furiously against the Catholic Church, but I think She just spoke what is morally right in the eyes of God,yes the act of the stepdad is worth condemning,and so is rape,and so are the pedophiles,and all those acts done against women.The child had undergone so much trauma, I sympathize, I would imagine,if the same thing happens to my daughter(not the incestous rape,God forbid)awkward pregnancy.Still I wount resort to abortion(with exception of ectopic pregnancy and anencephaly,or fetus with no cranial bone)Yes the Roman Catholic Church is correct that she should have had preserved the Life,a wrong doing cannot be corrected by doing another wrong.If the child is given all the proper support, care, and counselling,there could be a good chance that she will make it through the pregnancy.Those who had said that abortion is the best solution dont have real Faith in God, they are so concerned about the earthly life and comfort.When God asked Abraham to kill his son Isaac as offering to Him,all those who cursed the Catholic Church for Her opposition to the abortion may curse God as well for asking a well abled life as an offering to Him which seems like doesn't show any sense at all but Real Faith in God's wisdom. They hated The Church because She choosed Life at all cost, but nobody questioned God why He asked Abraham's son as an offering, dont get confused, both situations asks for unconditional Faith in God,if God wills it, the Child will live and so are the twins, with all the support, at the end of the day,we could say,weve done our part as God's people. I think God will not say you people should have done the right thing,you should have had killed the twins at the start if you dont like it.Or do you think God will blame you because you allowed the pregnancy, and blame you of the child's death and of the foetuses, but if we have real Faith and put everything in God's hands,if He wills it,the child will live and so are the twins.Dont hate the Church for speaking for what is morally right,yes there maybe so many immorals and hypocrites in the Church,they are just humans and sinners as well, but look at the teachings of the Church, not the sins of the people in Her, She conveys what is of God.Dont treat pregnancy as if it is a cyst, there is Life in it like ours.Peace...

Catholic church still in the dark ages and have no sense of the real world. I myself also am not religious because of cr@p like this. So much blood have been shed because of religion...it is causing more damage than doing good. Pope sitting in his gold adorned Vatican city...funded by some of the poorest countries?! Shocking. It is high time that the church be cut down to size. I say follow the 10 commandments, as these are based on common sense...the rest is used to inflame hatred and discrimmination against gay people, women etc. How the religions of the world still manages to do harm like this in the 21st century is beyond me. I applaud the doctors who did this for this innocent child. And as for the stepfather....IF ONLY IT WAS POSSIBLE TO IMPREGNATE HIM WITH QUADS AND LET HIM GIVE BIRTH AND SEE HOW HE LIKES IT!

I agree the church is wrong in this instance. She is just a little girl and being a mother myself and giving birth to a 4,5kg baby wasn't easy for me, let alone a nine year old. Shame on you Marcia Miranda. The stepfather should pay for what he did to the child.

Ridiculous! So she went through the trauma of being raped, bearing the psychological scars of this forever, now she should carry twins full term, be subjected to all the emotions and physical symptoms of a pregnancy and then still have to endure a caesarian and the pain and after-effects of this operation? Bearing in mind she was a sweet innocent child who didn't ask for this... Will anyone in their right minds want their daughter to endure this suffering? No, I think not! I agree that abortion is not moral, but we need to be open-minded when it comes to situations like these. Things aren't always black and white. We need to consider the personal circumstances of each case.

What is happening in the world today? 9 year olds getting raped by the same people who are supposed to protect them. How is the 9 year old supposed to deal with trauma of this nature? I feel her so sorry. What is the world coming to? We have become barabaric and uncivilised without a doubt.
