Some Soweto residents will have their water cut due to an infrastructure upgrade, Johannesburg Water said on Tuesday.

"The interruption will take place on Thursday," the utility said in a statement.

The areas affected are Diepkloof Zone 6 and Baragwanath hospital, between 8am and 4pm.

"Johannesburg Water wishes to apologise to the residents in affected areas and undertakes to have the interruption resolved as soon as possible.

"A water tanker will roam in the affected areas."

Residents can obtain more information by calling the company's 24-hour helpline on 011-688-1500 or visiting www.johannesburgwater.co.za. Sapa
