Happy Mother's Day to one of the best mothers.
The Cheetah Conservation Fund has chosen this lean speed machine as an example of all that makes a perfect mother.
So, with a feline purr and a friendly paw, here are some reasons the Cheetah Conservation Fund offers in nominating cheetah mothers.
Cheetahs like to have big families. They can have up to six cubs at a time - a huge job for any mother to take on.
They watch out for their children. Because their newborn cubs are blind and defenceless for the first six weeks of their lives, mothers move their brood to different dens every few days to protect them from predators.

They put their offspring first. Unlike some predators, such as lionesses, cheetah moms let their cubs eat first before digging in.
They are not afraid to show their love. Cheetah mothers are openly affectionate, purring and licking their cubs often.
Bearing all these characteristics in mind, how do you measure up?
In the run-up to Mother's Day, the conservation body invited youngsters to show their admiration of their mothers by making donations to the fund in honour of their mothers.
The Sunday Tribune wishes a Happy Mother's Day to all those human mothers out there, who unfailingly place their families before themselves.
