 Cape Town beaches get Blue Flag status

Cape Town again has the most Blue Flag beaches in SA.

On Thursday, seven city beaches will be awarded the highly sought after status - and until then it will remain a closely guarded secret which beaches have been given this honour.

Last year, six beaches were awarded the prestigious status - Clifton Fourth, Mnandi, Bikini in Gordon's Bay, Muizenberg, Strandfontein and a section of Camps Bay.

The Blue Flag National Launch, at which 31 beaches in South Africa from 13 municipalities will be accredited with Blue Flag Status, will be held on Thursday at the Muizenberg Civic Centre.
