One man was killed and 13 others were injured, four seriously, when the taxi and car they were travelling in collided on the R603 near Adams Mission, south of Durban, on Sunday evening.

The light motor vehicle allegedly slammed into the side of the taxi as it entered an intersection.

The collision sent both vehicles spinning out of control, according to Netcare 911 spokesperson Jeff Wicks.

All the wounded were treated by Netcare 911 paramedics before they were transported by ambulance to Prince Mshiyeni Memorial Hospital for further medical care.
