Two-hundred-and-sixty-five people arrested for crimes ranging from rape to attempted murder will appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Monday, said police.
Captain John Maluleke said the people were arrested around the Johannesburg CBD between Friday and Monday morning.
Some would face charges of armed robbery, pointing a firearm, serious assault, attempted rape and common robbery, common assault and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
Others were charged with various crimes including malicious damage to property, domestic violence, business breaking, fraud, intimidation and attempted murder. - Sapa
