A witness in the High Court in Johannesburg on Wednesday identified two West Rand policemen as the ones who allegedly claimed drugs at OR Tambo International Airport.
Import supervisor Marthinus Pretorius was giving evidence in the drug smuggling trial of three senior West Rand police - Senior Superintendent Dumisani Jwara and Captain Victor Jwili and Captain Landro Mokgosani.
The three were facing 13 drug related charges alongside Captain Caiphus Shange, who died in police custody in July this year.
The four had pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Pretorius identified Jwili and Mokgosani as officers who were in the company of Shange when they approached him with documentation matching a parcel in cargo storage on October 3, 2007.

The parcel, which the officers managed to have released to them, contained 198kg of cocaine.
Airport staff in the cargo section helped the officers load the parcel onto the back of a bakkie with a forklift.
Pretorius said they told him they were police from the West Rand and wanted to question the agent who was to pick up the parcel destined for Maputo.
The case was postponed to Friday for further submissions of evidence. - Sapa
