Springbok rugby coach Peter de Villiers, former Bok player Wayne Julies and two partners have been ordered by the Cape High Court to pay R300 000 in rent arrears for a gym they have been leasing in Paarl since March.
De Villiers's involvement in the development of a gym in Berg River Park, a new 40 000 m2 industrial park, was announced with great fanfare in October.
Spearhead Property Holdings (Pty) Ltd leased Unit 12B to De Villiers, Julies, Willem Small and James Claasen for the gym.
The lease was originally signed by Eugene Gaston van den Berg on August 31, 2006.

The contract was to start on October 1, 2006 and continue for five years until August 31, 2011.
Van den Berg, however, ceded this contract to De Villiers, Small, Claasen and Julies in March 2009.
Shortly afterwards, the men signed an agreement in an effort to settle claims by Spearhead, in which they acknowledged they owed Spearhead R93 822.
This week Spearhead Property Holdings applied for a summary judgment in the Cape High Court against the four men.
Spearhead's application was not opposed by any of the four men, although yesterday Small said he had not known about it.
