Two men have been arrested for firing shots at Dutch and Danish tourists outside Coffee Bay in the Eastern Cape earlier this month, police said on Saturday.
Superintendent Nondumiso Jafta the two, aged 24 and 30, were arrested and charged with attempted murder after firing shots at the tourists on May 3.
"Two men, aged 24 and 30, were arrested for attempted murder in two separate incidents where tourists were shot at in Kwaaiman village, Mqanduli," Jafta said.
In the first incident, Dutch tourist Menno Postmo, 53, and his wife Maria, 55, were travelling in a van for a holiday in Coffee Bay when they fired at by four armed men.

"The driver escaped unhurt but the vehicle had bullet holes," Jafta said.
Minutes later Danish tourists Mikkel Staynsdjerg, 27, and Trine Drinkmann, 26, were attacked by the same group of men.
"There were no injuries sustained in either event," Jafta said.
The two men were arrested on Wednesday.
The police confiscated a .38 special revolver and a .45 magnum hand gun. Both weapons were suspected to have been used during the attack.
Jafta said during their interrogations, it was found that the two suspects may have been involved in a number of other attempted murders between Coffee Bay and Kwaaiman.
The men will appear in court on Monday.
