Two men were arrested on Thursday after assaulting a 50-year-old motorist in Boksburg in what police believe was a road-rage incident.
Ekurhuleni metro police spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng said the two men were arrested on the R21 near the Griffiths Road bridge.
He said the suspects, aged 35 and 29 respectively, had been driving a white Audi A4.
They are alleged to have forced their 50-year-old victim, who was driving a Mazda Etude, to stop and pull over.
He said: "When the two alighted from their vehicle they kicked his car before he was dragged out of his vehicle and assaulted. Patrolling metro police officers noticed the assault and came to his rescue."
