Two motorcyclists were seriously injured when their bikes collided on Sarnia Road, Sarnia this morning (06h30).

While what exactly caused the crash is impossible to confirm at this stage, it is thought that one motorcyclist had overtaken a car, and while moving back into the correct lane, sideswiped the other rider.

Both men fell from their bikes and had been helped to the roadside when Netcare 911 Paramedics arrived at the scene. They has sustained possible head and spinal injuries, limb fractures and abrasions and lacerations one would expect from a motorcycle accident.

Both were treated and stabilised by paramedics at the scene before they were transported to area hospitals by ambulance for further medical care.

The two are in a serious but stable condition.

Last night a motorcyclist was critically injured when he fell from his bike on Padfield Road, Pinetown (19h30). It would appear that the motorcyclist was the only party involved, and had collided with the curb before leaving the road and coming to rest in the veld at the roadside.

Netcare 911 Paramedics found the critically injured man lying face down in the tall grass.

Advanced life support paramedics managed to treat and stabilise the man at the scene before he was transported by ambulance to Netcare St Augustine's Hospital.
