 Boy hit by car while crossing a Durban road

An eleven-year-old boy is in a serious but stable condition in Durban's Addington Hospital after he was hit by a car while crossing Diantree Road, Sydenham, this morning, according to Netcare911.

It is alleged that the boy had been running across the road near the Sydenham Model Primary School when he was struck by the light motor vehicle.

The boy was thrown backward on impact and then hobbled to the grass verge at the roadside. Netcare911 Paramedics found the injured boy in pain and rushed to his aid.

He was stabilised at the scene and is thought to have sustained possible head and spinal injuries, as well as multiple abrasions.
