One woman was seriously injured when two vehicles collided in the intersection of Loop and Boshoff Streets, Pietermaritzburg, earlier today.

While the cause of the accident is still unknown, it is believed that one errant party failed to adhere to the traffic signal and entered the intersection.

A light motor vehicle, driven by a woman, slammed into
the front side of the bakkie. The woman sustained possible neck and spinal injuries, as well as multiple abrasions.

The driver of the bakkie was uninjured.
