Dubai - Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden appeared in video footage posted on the Internet on Sunday on the eve of the anniversary of the September 11 attacks on US cities briefing the men who carried out the attacks.

In the full 92-minute tape, parts of which were aired by Al Jazeera television on Thursday, Bin Laden said: "Talk yourselves into martyrdom operations, encourage yourselves a lot. At the beginning you will not be used to the idea and you will think it is a difficult thing."

The documentary-style tape by al-Qaeda's media arm, Al Sahab, showed the attackers in martial arts training and talking with Bin Laden in what appeared to be a meeting to plan for the attacks.

Some of the attackers were shown reading their wills, and one of them posed next to a miniature aircraft.
