Beijing - A Chinese man and his wife have been arrested by police for running a bogus matchmaking agency.
Beijing newspapers report that the husband charged men to find them a date with "Miss Right" - but sent his wife instead.
The couple's agency ran newspaper ads claiming it had lots of rich and beautiful women on its books.
Men had to pay a consulting fee, a directory fee and another charge for each date, plus a membership fee of up to R3 500.
Police arrested the couple after receiving a tip-off from a victim.
They believe they have swindled hundreds of single men, raking in at least R22 000 in less than a year. - Ananova.com
