A woman who stabbed her lover in the back when she caught him with his trousers down is to marry him - after being spared jail for the attack.
Candy Lyons is set to wed Robert Goldthorpe - despite plunging a carving knife into him when she caught him with his trousers down with her best friend.
Goldthorpe always maintained he was not cheating on Lyons - but merely showing off an old gardening injury on his upper thigh caused by a hedge trimmer.
Lyons, a 38-year-old mother-of-two with no previous convictions, was handed a suspended one-year jail term after she had admitted wounding Goldthorpe.

The victim, who was left on the kitchen floor in a pool of blood and needed nine stitches, said he was "shocked by what happened".
"It was not like Candy to do anything like that. I don't think this would ever happen again.
"I love Candy dearly and I want to marry her."
Lyons' lawyer Martha Walsh had earlier told Lewes Crown Court the stabbing happened because her client was drunk and overreacted.
"Miss Lyons put two and two together and made five," Walsh told the court.
"To say she is horrified by what she did is a substantial understatement.
"She feels sincere and complete remorse."
Lyons said she "just went blank" when she attacked her husband-to-be.
"I heard the knife go in and I panicked and I ran.
"I had no idea what I had done.
"I didn't realise the severity of it until the police knocked on the door and then I was more scared when I saw the ambulance and thought 'Oh my God, I have really done some damage.'
"Rob kept ringing me to check that I was alright and said he loved me."
"We weren't allowed to see each other for three-and-a-half months, it was like Romeo and Juliet; we still loved each other.
