The spectre of paedophile Gert van Rooyen raised its head again late last night when police forensic experts started examining what might be human bones which were found at a property in Capital Park.
The find was made at a house in Venter Street, on the southern side of premises previously owned by Van Rooyen, who is linked to the disappearance of a number of young girls.
National police spokesperson Captain Percy Morokane said last night the owners of the house where the discovery was made are building a swimming pool.
Construction workers started digging about two days ago. Morokane said police forensic experts were sent to the house after "an object" was found.

"The matter is currently under investigation and at this stage we do not know whether what was found are indeed human bones or not. Our forensic experts will analyse the find to determine whether it is human or animal bones," said Morokane.
He said that at this stage they did not want to link the discovery with Van Rooyen.
"We appeal to members of the public to exercise patience because we do not want to put undue pressure on the investigation team," said Morokane.
About 20 years ago Van Rooyen shot dead his lover Joey Haarhof before turning the gun on himself during a police chase. Investigators believe they took to their graves the information regarding the disappearance of girls whose families up to today remain in the dark about their whereabouts.
