The "nightmare" organisation of the Celine Dion concert on Saturday has left thousands of fans disgusted and a bank demanding a refund to recover thousands of rands that were "wasted".
The Cape Argus has been inundated with SMSes, e-mails and telephone calls from irate fans complaining about the mismanagement of the event at the Vergelegen Wine Estate.
Gary Christy of Standard Bank, who had invited 30 businessmen to the concert, said the company had wasted more than R55 000 on Saturday night's concert. "We have made contact with the organisers voicing our displeasure and will be demanding a refund," he said.

'Unfortunately, no amount can compensate for the total waste of time' Christy said the organisers, Kusasa Entertainment, had not yet responded to the bank's concerns.
About 32 000 people flocked to see the Canadian diva live in concert over two nights, but many said they had not got their money's worth.
Christy said untrained security guards, poor parking and no traffic co-ordination had added to fans' fury.
After being in traffic for hours, he and his guests managed to see Dion for only 15 minutes.
"Unfortunately, no amount can compensate for the total waste of time forced upon some of Cape Town's most influential businessmen," he said.

MTN spokesperson Ntombi Mhangwani said the company had also had invited guests to the concert.
MTN guests echoed the complaints of many other fans, Mhangwani said.
"Our guests were affected by the lack of organisation and we can confirm that the treatment expected was not delivered," she said.
Mhangwani said MTN would address concerns with the organisers.
Vergelegen's marketing manager Eddie Turner "unreservedly" apologised for the disappointment.
