ANC president Jacob Zuma on Thursday held successful talks with the president of the People's Republic of China and General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC), Hu Jintao, in Beijing.

The ANC said in a statement Zuma is on a two day visit to China to strengthen party-to-party relations between the ANC and the CPC.

He arrived in China Thursday following a visit to India.

The two leaders emphasised the need to further develop relations between the two parties.

"They resolved to formalise contact through regular exchanges of visits and study groups, including cooperation on cadre training and development."
