New Delhi - India cricket selectors have tentatively named Sachin Tendulkar, sidelined since May after elbow surgery, in the squad for next month's two-Test series in Zimbabwe.
The 32-year-old will have a fitness test before deciding if he can travel. The first Test starts on September 13.
Tendulkar, among the game's premier batsmen for a decade, had struggled with the tennis elbow injury for almost a year before eventually deciding to undergo surgery.
The national selectors announced 15-member squads for the Test and a preceding one-day tri-series, also involving New Zealand, starting on August 24.
Batsman VVS Laxman, spinner Anil Kumble and left-arm paceman Zaheer Khan were dropped from the one-day squad and included only for the Tests after struggling in a recent tri-series in Sri Lanka. India lost to the hosts in the final.
