Cape Town cricketer Shameel Fakier can add his name to the list of Jim Laker and Anil Kumble after he achieved the rare feat of taking 10 wickets in a single innings.

Kensington Cricket Club captain Fakier ripped through the Cravenby Cricket Club batting order to take all 10 wickets for 70 runs in 24.4 overs in a Western Province Club Cricket league in Cravenby on Saturday.

The club, newcomers to the WP Cricket Association's 1D League, won the match by 12 runs.

"It's the first time I have ever taken 10 wickets in a single innings," Fakier said.

Club chairman Kadar Sablay said the team was proud of Fakier.

England's Laker took 10 wickets against the Aussies in 1956 and India's Kumble did it against Pakistan in 1999.
