While the rain may have flooded most of Cape Town, it has not dampened the excitement ahead of the Blue Bulls' Currie Cup showdown against Western Province at Newlands on Saturday.
Western Province CEO Rob Wagner said that while the rest of the Mother City was experiencing floods, the drainage system at Newlands is so good that the inclement weather wouldn't affect the game.
"The field is 100 percent fine at the moment," Wagner said. "There is absolutely no problem with the field and in fact, the players practised on it this afternoon and it was like practising on a dry field."

Wagner did say, however, that attendance was expected to be down for the game, partly because of the weather conditions.
"The field is fine but attendance probably won't be - that's partly due to the rain and partly because people aren't interested around here in the Currie Cup, because it's not
really strength vs strength at the moment."
The Weather Bureau has predicted rain for the rest of the weekend.
